Jaguar Repair: XJ6 hazard/turn signals, rear side markers, fuse panel

Question
QUESTION: Hello, i tried to test my 86 xj6 S3 flasher relay and do not have power coming into the flasher relay at all.Any help appreciated.I have no turn signals or hazard warning lights.

ANSWER: Hi Rick,
There is one power sources for the flasher unit. Light green w/pink tracer wire to the #49 pin on the flasher. It comes from the hazard switch depending on the position of the hazard switch. The hazard switch receives power form two sources. One from fuse #10 in the main fuse panel and fuse #2 in the main fuse panel.

QUESTION: Hello, Is there a seperate flaher and hazard unit.I think I have a bad hazard switch, would that effect my turn signals. At this point I have rear side markers but No front side markers there not getting any power to them & turn signals just do not work. Also I have a braided wire on my transmission housing one end is connected around my shifter but it is not connected at the other end behind the radio area.Where should that be connected too.

Answer
Yes Rick, the hazard switch does have an effect on turn signals. Go to my web site and copy the diagram to see the system.

Side markers are connected to the parking lights not the turn signals.

You will have to tell me the color code of the wires and what exactly they are connected to at the one end for me to ID them.
