Audio Systems: stereo installation, car stereo store, rca outputs

Question
hi, i have a 1987 chevy 1/2 ton pick-up truck. i just got a jensen cd330x stereo. do you have any tips for installing it. i know that i will have to cut a bigger hole in the dash than the factory stereo has. will i need to buy any wiring harnesses to install it? (if so which do you suggest?) this was given to me by my uncle b/c he bought a new one. it all ready has wires coming out of the back.(front and rear speakers, rca outputs, dimmer, power antenna, ground wire, etc.) thanks for your time,

Nick

P.S. it also has a wire bigger than all the rest, about 6 times as big, it is across from the other wires. what is this for?

Answer
Hello Nick,
I don't have any data on this CD unit, you should check the owners manual about that larger wire?. As for installing the unit in your truck, stop by and good car stereo store to see if thay have a wire harness adapter that will connect to the plug/s in your truck. with this adapter you can simply connect the new CD unit to the correct wire as they are labeled.
