Working under the hood of our 98 Cadillac. Radio was working when I started. Now, the radio displays the station, the CD player shows the track but, there is absolutly no sound coming from any speaker.  Have I lost a ground or what? The work I was doing had nothing to do with the radio.  I was pulling the EGR valve out to clean. Saved myself big buck on the EGR but now have screwed up the radio!!!

Herb,

humm i wouldnt think it would be related unless you had any contact with the battery or major battery wires .... if your system is a factory amp'd system which i would say is since its a caddy .. you could have a blown amp ! .. but i would pull the unit out just to make sure the wires are ok and also go to your fuse block pull out every fuse one at a time and check all fuses not just radio fuses for blows .. now before you drive it into a shop to have the amp tested ect.. if you have an extra head unit laying around aftermarket or a factory caddy that will work back you can wire it up and test to see if its a speaker/amp problem or in the stock unit... hope this helps out if you need anything else or i missed something just let me know

thanks

Thanks for the quick response. Now, I ain't the brightest when it comes to auto installations so how do you pull the unit from a caddy?  It is a Deville.
