Hi:

I have a 99 honda civic the cd player stoped working, it gives me an error code.

When I put the cd in it showes the code then the cd comes out.

Is this something I have to send out or is it something I can do, cleaning etc.

I've come across this problem a few times on AllExperts. The problem is that your CD player somehow lost its' power connection to the battery. Whenever this happens, the CD player starts doing what you're describing; put in a security code to make it work again. It's an anti-theft feature. You can either call Honda and have them give you the code or visit a shop and have them put in the code for you (Honda might not give it to you). The shop should be willing to do this for free since it's so easy. That's really all you can do though. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I hope this gets you going in the right direction.
