Audio Systems: repairing radio in a 1991 Mazda MPV, mazda mpv, output amplifier

Question
The original radio is installed. When it is turned on, sound from the speakers is intermitent. I can be driving along and the radio is fine and all of a sudden cuts out and stays out for long periods. Then it will cut back in. While the radio is not working, a "buzzing" noise can be heard when i use the turn signals as well as the foot brake. Any help to rectify this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks

Answer
Hello Al,
It sounds like your radio has defective solder connections, possibly on the pins of the audio output amplifier IC's. If you remove the radio and use an X10 magnifier you might be able to see the defective connections on the board/s.
