THE TAPE PLAYER SOUNDS LIKE IT IS RUNNING REAL FAST. YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND ANYTHING THAT IS PLAYING. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Since the tape player is a stock unit (an assumption on my part since I don't have a lot to work with), there isn't much you can do. You can check the owner's manual for operation of the tape player and see if there is a 'speed-up' function that got somehow enabled. Or you could purchase a tape cleaner and try that (although I don't think it would help). Otherwise than that there isn't much I can tell you. You'll have to visit your local car audio shop or Ford dealership and have them take a look. When something goes wrong with a stock unit, there isn't much I can do to help.
