Audi Repair: turn siganl not workinf properly, turn signal switch, flasher relay

I have a 2003 Audi A6 2.7t, My turn signal on it is not working properly. It seems like the flasher is getting stuck sometimes it work and sometimes it doesn't work so I'm confused some people say is is the turn signal switch and some say is the relay gets stuck can you help on what exactly it is. It's on both right & left turn!

This sounds like the flasher relay is failing.  I would change that first.  The signal levers themselves sometimes fail but then it would only have the problems on one side.  Since yours does it on both, I would check the flasher relay.  Does the emergency flasher work OK?  Let me know,  Jan
