Audi Repair: Audi TT 2000 Intrument Panel, fuse box, trip calculator

Hi,

My instrument panel, dash cluster, has gone dead this morning. Previously the gas guage had died and decided to wait to replace, seeing as 1000 euro's isn't cheap and using the trip calculator has been trouble free. I have checked the fuse box and the instrument panel one is just fine. The other thing it started to do was indicator for the oil temp goes on when i sow down to about 10 mph or stop moving completely. I have verified the oil and coolant and all is ok. Is this also linked to the instrument panel???

It may be the dash cluster, or perhaps the power to it is not present.  I would check the power at the cluster, and also the rectifier transistor that is on the back.  If warning lights start coming on, then there could be a problem with the ground connections.
