Audi Repair: 2002 1.8 A4 turbo?, advance autoparts, jumping to conclusions

Question
I'm 95% certain the turbo just went south.
it shudders pretty hard when accelerating anything over 10-20mph.
check eng. light is on  and  flashing.  63,000 mi.
could it be anything else computer control related?
other symtoms I should be feeling/hearing?
what is the general cost of turbo replacement?
does it take other systems with it when it goes?

Before jumping to conclusions, it's easier to get the computer codes read out.  You can get this done at Advance autoparts or such like.  If the turbo is gone, then there will probably not be any codes, so that would confirm your diagnosis.  Let me know,  Jan
