Audi Repair: tiptronic stuck, transmission control unit, shift assembly

Question
The dash reads PRD432 and the shifter is stuck in the tip gate with no shifting input allowed. However from a stop the car shifts normally thru the gears like it's in D. Cannot shift to the left so as to go into D,P, etc. The wiring harness nearest to the passenger footwell has 2 wires with bare metal showing that may have touched the metal shift assembly. Please help! Thank you.

Answer
If all the gears are lit up, that means a problem with the transmission control unit, you should get this checked with a VAG-COM or at an import specialist, since driving like this could lead to damage.  I would re-secure and isolate the bare wires first to stop the risk of shorts.  Let me know,  Jan
