Audi Repair: 2001 Audi a4 2.8, timing belt replacement, service interval

Question
timing belt replacement. The car has 75 Gs when should I replace the belt and how much should I expect to pay.
second question, where is the oil filter and how hard is it to replace.

Answer
Hi Ted,

The service interval is 120,000 Kms for the timing belt, as for the cost  I cannot tell you exactly but I can tell you what parts are required, Its the timing belt, timing tensioner bearing, Idler bearing and the water pump, the water pump it self is not part of the schedule but is replaced as a preventive measure because it is driven by the pump and it would be a shame if it were to give up 2 months down the road and have to pay for double labour.

As for the filter it is accessible from the under side of the vehicle, you will have to remove the plastic sound deadener and you should see it   right there next to the oil pan.
