Audi Repair: 96 cabrio auto trans shudders, model auto, transmission oil

occasionally when going from 3rd to 4th.
Is this common ?
Any inexpensive fixes ?

I would change the transmission oil and filter (yes there is a filter in there)  This is not a common problem, but unfortunately there are lots of issues with that model auto trans units.  Depending on how many miles are on the car, the oil change may take care of it.  Jan
