Hi can anybody help. I have an Audi A4 cabriolet 1.8T 2003.  When trying to open the roof to get some shopping out it suddenly stopped half way open.  I had to manually close the roof and I now cannot open the boot or get the automatic roof switch to work.  Although I have locked the roof down with the key that is supplied the instruments are telling me the roof is not secured.  Any ideas?

On the older models the hydraulic oil used to leak out.  Did you notice any oil in the lower trunk floor?  If the mechanism has not cycled shut through the closing procedures your instruments will show a malfunction, in this case the top will show as being open.  This is not an easy fix, unless it is the oil leaking out which can be refulled by an import specialist.  Let me know,  Jan
