Audi Repair: Starting problems, engine coolant, diesel motor

QUESTION: My 03 audi 1.8t has been slow to start. It sometimes starts and quickly stalls 2 or 3 times before starting and running normally.

ANSWER: I believe the diesel requires a start enrichment, and also of course glow plugs to fire up.  Do you know if both of these modules work OK?

Oops sorry I thought I read TD.  Anyway, is this predominantly when the weather is really cold?  If so then the cold start valve may be malfunctioning.  Also it may be worth checking the engine coolant sensor (ECT) since if this indicates a wrong reading (i.e. warm) then the engine will stall.  Let me know,  Jan
