Audi Repair: 2001 A6 2.7-chk engine light, mechanics, few days

Hello-I'm having so many issues with the car since it hit 95,000 miles. The check engine light keeps coming back on a few days after leaving the shop. The first time was he changed the coil boot, the 2nd time, "missfire on Cyld 5", so he replaced # 5 coil, 2 days later it's back on again. Not sure if I should change mechanics but is this common?

Is the shop actually fixing problems or are they throwing parts at it?  The codes sometimes will be a symptom of a different problem, but in the case of ignition problems the coil boot replacement was probably a miss...  Get the new codes read out and see if it is an associated problem.  Let me know,  Jan
