Audi Repair: 1996 Audi Rear Wiper, audi a6 quattro, audi a6

Question
I have purchased a 1996 Audi A6 Quattro wagon.  How the heck do you operate the rear wiper?  For a while I could push the regualar wiper arm once to run sparatic, twice to keep on and three times to shut it off.  Now no matter how many times I push on it the thing won't shut off.  Only way to do it is to shut off the car.  Is there something messed up with the motor or the operator???

Answer
Sounds like the control stork is failing, or perhaps the relay that controls the rear wiper is malfunctioning.  Relay is MUCH easier to replace, but the problem could be in either. If you can find out which is the actuating pin on the relay, you can test the operation of the control lever by having an assistant operate the control while checking the voltage on the actuating/trigger pin.  Let me know,  Jan
