Audi Repair: Audi 90CS Quattro keyless entry problem, maxxed out, trunk area

Right, so I need to ask a new question.(old thread maxxed-out)
The lights only turn on when the car is unlocked, not when the door is opnened.
As for the remote door system, it was standard, factory-issued.

It sounds to me that there may be a break in the wiring to your driver's door, or to the switch for the interior lights.  Look for a push-button type switch in the door shut, and see if the switch operates.  Next take the switch out (lift the cover there should be a philips screw holding it in) and short the wire to the metal of the car (bare metal, not painted) if the switch is bad, the lights will work when you touch the wire to ground.  Replace switch.  Let me know if this works.  regarding the remote system, I'm not sure but I think the remote pump (vacuum) and the trigger system which is actuated by the remote key is all in one module, somewhere on the passenger (US) side of the trunk area, or under the driver's seat.  It may be worth checink dor some corrosion or bad contacts.  Let me know,  Jan
