Audi Repair: A4 quatro suspension?, wheel alignment, tie rods

Question
I recently bought a 1999 A4 1.8T and it reacts strangly when roads are wet or snowy it seems to sway a during inclimate weather mostly with snow or slush, it makes me a little motion sick when driving and on dry conditions the rear seems to jump slightly to the left when i go over a bump. My first thought was maybe it needs shocks it has 122000 miles. Any ideas?
Thanls so much

Answer
This sounds like perhaps the tracking is off on the car, I would have a four wheel alignment done and have all the tie-rods checked out.  Also have the anti-sway bar bushings checked out.  To check the shocks, an easy test is to push on each corner of the car, and see if it returns to rest without more than one oscillation.  If a shock is bad, the car will 'bounce'.  Let me know,  Jan
