Answer
hi Lilly,

the Air filter is located on the right hand side of the engine compartment inside a big black box. you might have to pull of a cover to gain access to the box it self and there might also be a few pipes and a solonoid switch ( black in colour with a pipe on either end with a socket) to get out of the way, then there will either be 2 screws or 4 silver clips to undo before lifting the top part of the box away. after that repalce the filter, make sure it is sitting correctely then reinstall every thing in reverse order.

As for the AC filter it is located inside the phlenum chamber(where the battery is located between the dash and engine it self) next to the wipers. you will have to remove a rubber strip that runs along the front of the chamber then lift the front end of the plastic cover up slightly and pull it in front, the filter should be visible with the cover removed and if not then some times there is a black cover placed over it that has to be removed. also do not confuse the engine control unit housing with the filter housing, if the cover is attached with screws then that is the control unit housing. when replacing the filter pay attention to the direction of the arrow printed on the filter, it should point down towards the interior of the vehicle. after which replace every thing back in reverse order.also you have 2 options of filters on the ac system one is the normal dust filter and the other is a carbon activated type that filters out pollen, and nasty odors as well, the carbon activated one is slightly more expensive but it is suited for people with asthma or hay fever as it removes most if the pollutants from the air. they can be differentiated by the appearance, the normal one is white in colour and very light, while the carbon one has a greyish appearance and is heavier than the normal one.
