Audi Repair: audi prob, o2 sensors, connector wiring

i have a 2000 a4 1.8 it has had a check eng light on since i bought it, my code is for maf air.i have replaced maf air sencer several times code still comes back.the couple of things that i thought have not worked.

Did you replace the MAF with a new one?  Why would you replace it several times, if it didn't fix it then it is either a connector/wiring problem or there is an additional reason for the check engine light.  What is the mileage on the car?  For a 2000 A4 I would suspect the O2 sensors will be due; have they been done?
