Audi Repair: 2000 A4 2.8 Audi A/C, coolant temp, engine coolant

Question
My A/C gets warm while I am standing still at a stop light or in heavy traffic.  While I am on the highway or constantly moving, it cools great.  I opened the hood and the engine fan is working while the engine is running (my wife's Saturn had a similar problem and this was the case, but her engine would also overheat while stopped, mine does not).  Any suggestions?  Thanks.

Answer
hello
You may have overheating problem, on Audis when engine is overheating ECT (engine coolant temp sensor) will shut off A/C compressor to minimize any load . Also make sure all fans are working. Electric fan comes ON only with A/c and during overheating.
good luck            pltech
