Audi Repair: Transmission in backup mode, audi a4, scan tool

I own a 1998 Audi A4 2.4 v6 with the tiptronic, now recently a cable from the fuel pump has come off and i got my mechanic to look at it and found the cable and connected it now all of a sudden the gearbox has gone into backup mode as all the gears are selected on the dash. The engine is also making a funny almost shaky sound at low revs.

How can i take it out of backup mode?

What could the shaky sound be?

Trans will go into back up mode if there is something wrong with your trans. All dependance on what fault is in it. if it's sporadic fault it will go away after you erase it with a scan tool . If it's a hard fault - needs to be fix first
