I am some what mechanical and do some repairs on my 1987 BMW 535is.Q:How complicated is it to replace the oil cooler in the audi? is it straight forward or should I leave it to my mechanic? he estimates 2hours labor. parts and labor = $300.00 . Answer
Hi
If you have 2.8 engine , oil cooler in very easy to replace
Do it with your oil change ,( 1.8T and 2.7T is almost the same) once you remove oil filter , remove 2 coolant hoses (you will loose coolant!) Loosen big nut on pipe where oil filet goes and slide out old cooler. Make sure you use new gaskets.
good luck                    pltech
