Audi Repair: Malfunction Indicator Lamp, fault number, indicator lamp

Question
My Audi (1.8T Quattro, 82,000+ miles)MIL came on, is this something I can fix myself or does it require a computer to diagnose the cause?  Is this a result of my driver information screen not working the past 2 mnths? and can this driver screen be fixed myself because audi said it would be $600-$800 just for the (IF fix)?

Answer
hi
Your center display can not be replace by it self. The whole cluster must be replace , so that.s why it will be about $700 .
MIL is not easy . I will need fault number or "P" code
to tell you what it may be.
good luck                     pltech
