American Motors: oil pressure, remote oil filter, amc engines

Question
I know that AMC engines have trouble with their oil pressure, but i swapped a 360 into my cj instead of going with a chevy.  It was a rebuilt motor I bought off the internet and I ran it for about a year off and on until a noticeable knocking started to come from it.  I figured it was the mains from the sound, and since it also had the oil pump go out on it after the rebuild. Well I rebuilt it again with a new timing cover, new oil pump kit, bull tear dry sump conversion kit(dual lines), dual remote oil filter, reground crank, new rods, and new mains.  I primed the engine before its first start, and after running for a while the oil pressure comes and goes.  I have no idea what it might be...maybe the oil filter adapter gasket? I don't know.  Any help is very appreciated.  Andrew

Answer
When the oil pressure drops 1) what does it drop too? and 2) does the engine start to knock?
What are the Main & Rod bearing clearances?
I am not familiar with your remote filter set up and dry pump system.
After replacing the timing cover & oil pump. what were the clearances between the pump & cover and pump & case?
Were ALL of the oil galley plugs replaced after the overhaul?
