Cadillac Repair: possible ecu problems, Auto theft SIU claims investigation expert, EUO expert

Question
I have a 94 cadillac seville sls that a mechanic diagnosed as an ecu problem. It runs high idle and cuts out. It also is hard to crank plus the heater wont come on and the instrument panel isnt working properly. Is the ecu responsible for all of this like the mechanic says?

Answer
Hello,
The ECU (Electronic Control Unit, ECM (Electronic Control Module), BCM (Body Control Module) are all basically names for GM computers.

I do not know what your mechanic used to diagnose the problem. If all he did was ake the diagnostic control code from the vehicle, n I do not believe he would be accurate. If he used a Tech II electronic scanner plugged into the system, your answer would be very possible that all problems can be related.
