Cadillac Repair: 72 Cadillac Eldorado - Front End Repair, auto theft claim investigation euo denial claims and case expert

Question
I have a 1972 Eldorado Cadillac in mint condition but recently had an accident and damaged my front end.  I live in Grand Rapids, Mi and looking for information on a shop that will be able to repair the damage.  The car has all the authentic parts and in running condition.  I am interested in any shop that repairs vintage cars, it does not have to be in the Grand Rapids area I am willing to ship the car if necessary.

Thanks

Answer
Hi,

If I were you, I would not send the vehicle farther away than you are prepared to travel to check on it periodically. It does not matter how good of a reputation they have. There are far too many unknowns when dealing with a vintage vehicle like this.
What if you send the car to California and you are not happy with the repair? Chances are trying to get another shop to put the vehicle to your standards is going to cause you even more headaches and eventually, you will have wished that you never tried to get the car repaired, no matter how much you love it.
The first thing is to find a local body shop that speciaizes in restorations. I am sure you will find some good ones locally. Remember, this is going to be like your daughter dating a boyfriend you never met before. If you find a quality shop, ask for referrences and photograhs of before and after of their work. Contact the owners. The bodysho having pride should not have a problem with this. Next, once you find the sho you need to tell them to the letter as to exactly the type of quality of the replacement parts that are to go one the vehicle (either new-oem, used, or aftermarket. They have to be informed that you will be coming by frequently to get a status. Set an estimated date for the vehicle to be done and the cost, as well as to inform you of any problems along the way.
I have had my toys restored and repaired by local body shops in Milwaukee and Chicago. Not every project went on without a hitch, and this is why you need to deal locally. Distance will exasterbate any problem.

Good luck!
