Cadillac Repair: 97 Buick/2.4l quad/ No start problem, State Farm auto theft claim denial, State Farms forensic experts on stolen cars

Question
QUESTION: I removed starter thinking it was bad, had it bench tested, tested OK. I replaced, making sure I did not damage any wiring in the process. After realizing it was the battery, I then removed old battery and replaced with new battery. Engine never had a no start problem, but now it does, New battery is turning over engine nicely thank you, just won't start,   HELP,   Ray.

ANSWER: Hello,

What is this a Regal, Lesbre? The Road master is the only vehicle in the Buick line that had a transponder anti theft system. The VATS which had that ugly black resistor chip in the key blade in the other models  prevents the engine from cranking, so whatever your starting problem is, I do not know.

QUESTION: Its a Skylark, thanks anyway.

Answer
Hello,

Skylark should have PASSLOCK which goes by the rotation of the lock. Engine will crank, but won't start if there is a problem with that, however with that said, this system rately fails to start engine and if it was the problem, the security light would be on, which you did not list in your complaint.
