car will start when  cold it stays on for about five minutes then turns off after the car turns off the radiator fans turn on but the car will not start up again until the fans turn off once the car is running it runs rough it also has puffing sound in the tail pipe

This does not sound right at all. Fans should not be coming on that early. Since I am not there your'e situation is impossible to diagnose, but it sounds like the engine has been overheated, which is something an aluminum engine can't take. These things are notorious for self destructing and literally melting!

Look for white smoke coming from tail pipe. You then have a cracked block or a blown head gasket, which is the result and not the cause for overheating.
Have the engine cooling system checked to see exactly what the problem is. Good Luck!
