Answer
Hello,

The electrical ignition switch is not the keys and lock cylinder.

Your circuit is not covered by a fuse.

You need to remove the black hush panel under the steering column (7mm or 9/32 heads on screws) under the steering column. In the rear part or the hush panel either 10mm head or wing nuts on the studs.

Follow the two harnesses up to the top of the steering column under dash.

There are 2 connectors that plug inti ignition switch. Push connectors to determine they are locked in.

I don't recommend changing parts for the heck of it, but I have seen ignition switches burn out on old cars. If pushing the connector in does not work, you need to pull both connectors from ignition switch. There is a trick to this because of limited space without dropping column. Disconnect battery. Try to pry the tin hold down on the top of the ignition switch. Pull two connectors.Look or smell for burning.

Get a new electrical switch and install connectors. Insert an ice pick awl or small screwdriver into hole. You will see with the switch upside down. Pull one click. Your warning indicator lights should light up. Holding the ignition switch, pull once more, engine should start and run. Push back on hole to turn off.

You are going to need advice to replace the ignition switch and the column needs to be dropped. At that point call me and have a pen and paper. Its not a major repair, but dropping the column and replacing the switch requires extensive information. 866-490-1673. I have rebuilt and repaired over 10,000 of these columns, so I have a little experience I can share with you.
