Cadillac Repair: Cadillac Seville 1999 STS EBTCM, bauer millet, cadillac seville

Question
Hi Rob,
I am not sure if this is your area of expertise but I am hoping you might be able to help with advice. The car has covered only 18000 miles faultlessly since new but now the Brake and Traction Control lights show on my car. I have a Tech 2 which shows no communication with the chassis function although the engine etc data are available. When I scan via the on board scanner I get 'no ABS codes' readout. Everyone tells me the Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module has failed. Unfortunately these appear to be no longer available from the US or Bauer Millet. Can these units be repaired/reconditioned and if so do you know anyone who can do this sort of work please.
If you think it is not the EBTCM, any thoughts you might have would be useful.
Thanks in advance and best wishes.
John

Answer
Hello,

I do not know what your access is to used parts for thiis car in the UK, but I would try that option if possible.

If not, another option would be going on line and checking for a GM dealer who might stock the part. They have the capability of checking with the Cadillac dealers and possibly someone is sitting on the component in old stock.

If not, try on line for salvage yards. I would bet with any of these options you will get the part you need.

Good luck!
