My digital dash in my 1988 Cadillac eldorado, goes on and off, flickers and its like everything resets. Even my climate control turns of and on. my light work when i turn them on but my automatic light don't work when the dash is out. is there any reason you can think of, for my dash to be doing this?

Here is the begining problem as it relates to any type of diagnoses on a 22 year old car: we have no idea as to the history over all the years. How many times has it been crashed or stolen? How many if any times has the dash been pulled? Has there been wiring issues over the years?

One though might be that possibly the speedo has to be pulled and the printed circuit connection could be coated with die electric grease and reinstalled. Other than that on a car that old it is anyone's guess.
