Cadillac Repair: service lights on, cadillac eldorado, fuse panels

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2002 Cadillac Eldorado an I have the anti-lock brake, traction control and check air bag lights on how do i get them off?

ANSWER: Hello,
You have 2 fuse panels in that car. Check your owners manual for locations. My first thought is a blown gauge fuse.

Let me know if that was the cause, could get worse, but maybe it will be that simple.

QUESTION: Hello
There were three fuse that were blown, so I changed them but the service lights didn't go out.Is it possible for all three sensors to go out at the same time? Where do I go from here?

Answer
Hello,

I would say that you have a problem in the circuit that controls these lights or a bad body control module.

This may not be something you want to guess at
because it can be time consuming and very costly replacing parts on a guess. Don't go to the dealer. You may have to call around to the local larger service centers and ask them if they have a Tech II diagnostic scanner.

The scanner will diagnose the exact problem and leaves all the guess work out of it.

You ask if all three sensors could be bad. Highly unlikely, but they may have a common source for power.

It has been my experience that if the replacement of burned out fuses does not repair the problem and in your case all three lights are still iluminatted, the problem could be caused by a faulty computer.

Let me know what happens.
