Cadillac Repair: cadillac catera fuel pump, cadillac catera, fuel pump relay

i have a 99 cadillac catera i put a new fuel pump in and a new fuel pump relay i checked all the fuses and they are good the problem is the fuel pump has no power going to it saw on the net it could be the oil sensor switch but it has good oil pressure i took my test light and hooked to it and when the key is turned on thers no power lighting my test light but when the car cranks my test light lights up but the pump still dont pump any fuel got any ideas

I hate to rain on your parade because of all the time and expense you went to so far, but in this case, you probably can't repair this car yourself.

This does sound like a transponder anti-theft problem.

Readers, please do not look at this answer and think it is the same problem when engine does not start.

It sounds like the computer is not reading a factory electronically programmed ignition key.

You need to have the transponder ignition system checked at the dealer. They have the tech II scanner needed for diagnoses.
