Cadillac Repair: putting on serpintine belt, tensioner pulley, pully

Question
I have run the belt around all the pulleys and am having trouble getting it under the tension pulley I need another say 1/2 inch slack any suggestions?

Hello,

I will give you a general answer that should help you. You should see on the top or side of the engine one pully that has a 1/2" square in it. That is your tensioner pulley. Take a half inch ratchet and put pressure on the pully so the belt will fir on. Remove the ratchet--you are done!
