Cadillac Repair: 1999 Cadillac DeVille Base rear Air Suspenion, cadillac deville, 1999 cadillac deville

Question
Our 1999 Cadillac DeVille Base won't release air pressure and rides excessively high.  I read your explanation regarding the height sensor and I just recently replaced the sensor with a new part.  The problem persists.  Is it reasonable to look to the compressor relief valve as the next most likely culprit?  Is the valve repairable or am I looking to replace the compressor.  Also is there a computer control for this system and is it possible that it may be causing the issue.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
did you MANUALLY move the metal rod upwards and downwards while waiting a minimum of 2 minutes for it to respond to see if the air pump pumped or exhausted air from the shocks BEFORE attaching the metal rod  ?.

It is EXTREMLY rare that the compressor is causing this fault but it IS possible.

Does your vehicle have ROAD SENSING SUSPENSION (RSS) ?.
