Cadillac Repair: new brakes seem to be dragging, cadillac eldorado, proportioning valve

Question
Hi!!  I just put new rear pads and rotors on my 1996 Cadillac Eldorado.  We had to open the brake lines up to get the piston (it spins back into position instead of just going straight back like some others) that holds the pads back far enough to put on the new pads.  After I got the wheels back on and put it in gear, it seems like they are dragging (clamped to the rotor) and it won't allow the car to proceed like normal.  I drove it and it brakes fine but it seems like the pads are dragging.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Answer
Hello,

My first thoughts are either bad calipers or a bad proportioning valve. Both of these are a distinct possibilty.
You can change the calipers, but before doing this, I would recommend taking the car to a service center (not a dealer) to have the valve checked out.
