Cadillac Repair: Adding Sealer, coolant system, heater cores

Hello:
I have a 1998 Cadillac Deville base model with a 4.6 northstar engine. I have an overheating problem which I know where the problem is but am not financially able to have it taken apart to be repaired. On the rear of the engine, or the side opposite the pulley side (Drivers Side) the crossovers that allow for the coolant to flow from top to bottom water jackets have gaskets, I assume at 4 points. I can see the water leakage from between these top points when the thermostat closes and the pressure builds. My question is can I put some type of engine sealer, gasket sealer or something in there to seal those leaks for a while and if so what product would you recommend and how long do you think that it would get me by? That would probably depend on usage. The leaks aren't at this time severe but has to be watched and topped off everyday but sometimes it must leak more than others and becomes low enough to raise the temperature.

When the vehicle was manufactured there were special sealant pellets put into the cooling system to seal any leaks. If you have hanged the anti-freeze at any time and you did not reinstall some pellets, You CAN install HALF the total amount of pellets into the coolant system now.

HOWEVER, It is RISKY, Because thee pellets tend to plug up heater cores.
