QuestionQUESTION: I have a 1989 Cadillac Deville 4.5 litre. My service engine soon light comes on. It does not come on immediately you have to drive the care for a short period before it comes on. After the car sets for about 15 mins or so and you restart it there is no light.
I ran the code part, but not sure what the codes mean. This is what came up on my screen as it scrolled across .EE39.7.0 F.8.5
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

QUESTION: What does the code mean any idea? If I have read correctly on the web it is the TCC/VCC If that is what the code means then I can guess it is the solenoid and causing my overdrive to act up.
AnswerYou are EXACTLY CORRECT as this has been a problem with Cadillac for many mant years and to replace the solenopid you have to split the trans from the engine in order to get access to be able to remove the side cover from the trans to replace the solenoid. Repaired in the above said manner runs approx $850.00.
