Cadillac Repair: 2000 Cadillac Escalade, redlights, cadillac escalade

Question
After driving about 10 miles, the car will die at redlights or any stops.

It will re-start if I pet it.

I have replaced fuel filter, spark plugs and idle position sensor.


It is using 1/2 tank of gas per 100 miles.

IS or HAS the CHECK ENGINE light ever illuminated while driving the vehicle and or has any other lights illuminated or any messages from the message display center ?.

What work or diagnostics of ANYKIND WHAT-SO-EVER have been performed on the vehicle trying to fix this problem ?.
