Cadillac Repair: 1992 cadillac sts, cadillac sts, positive cable

Question
Just recently purchased a 92 StS, and for some strange reason it starts when it wants to! Once the car starts, it runs good but then if i shut it off and try to crank it again it takes a couple of time's of turning the key before it starts up.I checked the car again their are now displays on the dash bored, the power seats don't function and their is nothing on the dash board. It actually displayed wait 3 min which i did and during the time i heard little noises (like tapping not sure)so I'm lost. The car is lovely an i don't want to give up but its destroying my train of thought. I drove the car took it up to 100mph the engine is still very strong I'm just puzzled as to why the car doesn't start I'm sure if it get a jump then it will crank 123 but the problem will remain, I'm not sure if its something with the key or electrical or even the alienator. To my understanding if i remove the positive cable on the battery while the car is running an it shuts off then the alienator is bad but I'm almost positive its not that. The car just has a mind of it own i guess, i their is anyone out their who can help greatly appreciate it! ?Thanks a million.

Answer
Hello,

I do not get paid to answer questions here. I share my knowledge to help people.

I told you I had no idea as to where to start with your electrical problem because you have more than one thing not working correctly. Anyone giving you an answer on the web as to your electrical problems is just guessing and I did not want to make such a guess because it would cost you money ans still not fix the problem. I also tried to save you from hurting your car any further by disconnecting the pos battery cable with the engine running.

I really do not appreciate you giving a rating of 1 for knowledgability.
Very few do this and most are very appreciative.

One of these days, I am just going to quit helping anyone.

Some of you people think you havt cars built in the 60's and 70's where they can be tinkered with. Tinkering electrical on a computer controled car can be very costly.
