Cadillac Repair: Help disable factory security 1989 Cadillac deVille, cadillac coupe deville, 1989 cadillac coupe deville

Question
I’m installing a Ultra Start u-1272tL remote starter in my 1989 Cadillac Coupe deVille 2-door with front wheel drive.  I have a factory security system that is prior to passlock or VATS systems.  It has only a dash security light that will beep the horn for about a minute about every ½ hour if the doorlocks are tampered with and under some other conditions that I’m not completely familiar with.  It may also disable the starter but I’ve not experienced that yet.  I understand that it’s possible to disable this system and that it does not require a bypass module to do so.  Can you help advise the procedure to implement during the remote starter install?

Also do the trunk and horn operations require a relay of some type to protect the remote starter current draw?

Answer
Hello,

Bad news, your car is too old to have VATS on Cadillac. Did not start until 1990.

You may have a factory installed alarm, but the car does not have a factory starter disable. The problem is that the car is too old for me and most to have any wiring diagrams for your car.

Your questions may be answered if you can find a factory electrical manual for your 1989 Caddy. You can try Ebay or Craig's list.
