Cadillac Repair: 92 cad a/c, 134a freon, r 134a

Question
QUESTION: I HAVE A 92 SEVILLE W/4.9 ENG. AND CONVERTED THE A/C TO R134A. I REALIZE THE SENSOR DOES NOT RECONIZE THE R-134A. MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I KEEP THE COMPUTER FROM SHUTTING DOWN THE COMPRESSOR SINCE THE LOW REFRIGERANT DISPLAY IS ON? ALSO IF IT DOES SHUT DOWN HOW DO I RESTART IT, BESIDES CHANGING BACK TO R-12? I HAVE THE SERVICE MANUAL. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

ANSWER: To be perfectly honest and not to feed you bull ----, At this point and time there is no way of doing it.

QUESTION: SO ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RESTART MY COMPRESSOR WHEN IT SHUTS DOWN? THERE'S NO PINS TO JUMPER? THANKS.

ANSWER: You can CLEAR (erase) the code from the computer each and every time the check engine light illuminates.

Do you know HOW to retrieve and clear the code from the computer ?.

QUESTION: YES I KNOW HOW TO CLEAR THE CODES. WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR WAS A WAY TO BYPASS THE SENSOR SO IT COULD NOT READ THE LOW REFRIGERANT, OR REPLACE IT WITH A R-134A SENSOR FROM A LATE MODEL CAD. THANKS.

Answer
As of this date and time there is NO WAY to by-pass the sensor as the computer must see a specific changes in the sensor reading so as to keep the check engine light from illuminating.

You also cannot use a 134a system sensor as the sensor has a vastly different calibration built into it.

I have been working on a solution in my spare time trying to alter the R-12 calibration limits so as to fool the computer.

As soon as I come up with the correct resolution, I will post it for everyone so they can alter there systems to R-134a freon.
