Cadillac Repair: 1993 Cadillac Sedan Deville Runs Poorly, spark plug wires, coolant leak

When I obtained this vehicle it did run a little rough and my dad believes that it was or is out of time. However I drove it home had it running in driveway many times etc.  Well after fixing a minor coolant leak i forgot to put the radiator cap on. The next day I started the car and it idled smoothly about 20 mins to warm up. Then I got in to leave it started running poorly misfiring and stalling out. I popped the hood and found the cap was off. did nothing from there on. Next morning after it cooled down I refilled coolant. Now car just runs terribly pops misses and sometimes backfires no matter what.  yea it may be out of time but I am not conviced that it went out that bad so quickly.

Does the engine overheat at all or get above the normal temperature range on the dash panel ?.

You most likely only got the spark plugs wires wet with anti-freeze and it just needs to be hosed off with the engine running.


When it is dark outside start the engine and watch to see if you see any sparks jumping from the spark plug wires. If NOT, Take a windex spray bottle full of water and spray the spark plug wires and see if you see any leaking spark plug wires.
