Cadillac Repair: engine revs, 1994 cadillac sls, vacuum leaks

QUESTION: I have a 1994 Cadillac sls that the engine revs between 700 and 1700 once the car warms up. The current codes are po41 and p132. Also I get PCM? Thank You for any help that you can provide.

ANSWER: P041 = cam sensor fault.

P132 = Knock sensor fault.

When you display the codes after each code displays you should see either the word HISTORY or CURRENT.

Recheck your codes and tell me if they are HISTORY or CURRENT.

QUESTION: Hello, The codes are all current. I replaced the cam sensor
and the throttle positioning sensor. I cleaned the throttle body and checked for vacuum leaks and found none.

ANSWER: CLEAR (erase) ALL the codes via the climate control panel and let me know what codes return as history or current.

Pulling fuses and disconnecting the battery will NOT clear the codes.

QUESTION: Have or did you disconnect the battery when you made these repairs ?.

QUESTION: Can you tell me the procedure for clearing the codes. I did not disconnect the battery before making the repairs. But I did just replace the battery.

Answer
1. Bring up the codes via the climate control panel and it should stop and display PCM?

2. Push and release the HI button and you will see PCM DATA?

3. Keep pushing and releasing the LO button until you see PCM CLEAR CODES?

4. Push and release the HI button and you will see PCM CODES CLEAR.

5. Wait 3 seconds and turn OFF the ignition switch.

6. Wait 15 seconds and recheck for any codes.
