Cadillac Repair: 86 fleetwood brougham check engine light, fleetwood brougham, electrical switch

Question
Okay I finally have my 86 running. I have had the steering column rebuilt, new ignition switch, and now my check engine light is on and there is a clicking noise coming from under the dash and the lights on the panel flicker??? Any clues on where to start the trouble shooting?? Also when i turn the car off it stays running and when i put the key forward its like it never shut off.. If i turn the key back it will stay running High rpm and then start to bog sputter I have to turn the key forward and back while tapping the gas pedal to get it to turn off. though it does not happen every time

Thank you very much for your time

Answer
We can try and adjust the electrical switch that is mounted up under the dash on the steering column first.

If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need a DIGITAL MULTIMETER, Simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture. I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.
