Cadillac Repair: 1988 Cadillac Brougham Vacuum System, 1988 cadillac brougham, cadillac brougham

Question
I recently replaced the cylinder heads on a 1988 Cadillac Brougham (307).  I thought I had the vacuum lines hooked up properly, however the climate control door is always stuck to the floor.

I checked all the emission hose routings and it looks to be correct.  The only line I can see that would make sense to move the doors is the one from the right hand side behind the accumulator.  This is plugged into the back of the heater valve now.  It won't fit onto the back of the intake manifold plug on the back right of the car, and the vacuum pump hose is too short to reach the heater valve in orfder to switch the lines (there's always hot coolant flowing through the heater core).

The climate control is working in the sense that the compressor turns on and blows cold air; it's just blowing at the floor.  The system worked perfectly before I tore into the heads.

I have the service manual, but this isn't assisting me.  Help!

Where is the vacuum line for the door and where does it plug into?  I warn you, once I find that out, I will probably need to ask where the line I had plugged into that spot goes.

Answer
If you have the factory service manual look on page 1C-13 for the water valve hose. Where it shows GROMMET, This is the rubber seal that the lines go thru the firewall.

You should have FULL hot water flow thru the heater core when there is NO vacuum at the water valve and NO water flow thru the heater ccore when there IS vacuum at the water valve hose.

If you are mechanicaly inclined or know of someone who is, You will need a DIGITAL MULTIMETER, Simple electrical schematics, Test procedures and picture locations of the components within the system that is causing you problems of which can't be done on this website which only allows one picture. I do not have a website so you will have to e-mail: onlineautohelp@msn.com in order to obtain the information.
