Cadillac Repair: my car running hot, combustion chambers, head gaskets

Question
QUESTION: i have a 1999 cadillac deville i have change the termostat change the water pump also check for leaks i got the radiator rod but it still runs hot i have full power engine runs great no signs of water in the exhaust or on the oil but i am loosing water when it runs hot what could be my problem?

ANSWER: You have small seepage of the entire head gaskets which is being introdduced into all the combustion chambers in small enough amounts that you do not notice the normal white exhaust smoke.

Cadillac has a major problem with the head gaskets due to the steel bolts going into the aluminum engine block and the threads are stretching letting small amounts of coolant into every cylinder.

Replace the head gaskets, replace the head bolts and drill and heli-coil the threads in the aluminum engine block.

QUESTION: thanks for that answer now its something i didnt add before i take down the engine i took the top radiator hose of and add water to where you put it in while the car was on and no water came from out of the radiator from the top is that normal or the rad is clogged

ANSWER: Even though I know the head gaskets are leaking, You MIGHT, And I said MIGHT dellay the engine rebuild for awhile if you install a NEW radiator. These RODDING of the radiators has NEVER worked for me. The internal channels from constantly going from COLD to HOT tend to weaken the inner tubes nad they start to partially collapse when the radiator gets hot and re-expand when the radiator is COLD.

If it were my vehicle, I would drop in a new radiator.

The best price I have found for radiators is at radiators.com

QUESTION: do you think i should just grt another engine i really love the car or just change the gasket and what about heal and seal trust me you are being a good help

Answer
Whether you fix the engine you have or replace the engine, I would still drop in a new radiator. If you go with a used engine, Make sure you FLUSH OUT the engine BEFORE you install the new radiator.

Do NOT put any of thee liquid MIRACLE CURES in a bottle or can into the engine.

Only install the Sealant pellets recommended by the manufacturer.

NOTE: installing a used engine may result in the same problem you have NOW.
