QUESTION: i have a cadillac sts 2000 and my service engine soon light came on and i had it checked and they said it was torque converter lock out relay. Whats is that and where is it located and how do u fix it? Can someone help me? Thanks.

ANSWER: This is the circuit that engages and disengages your overdrive within your transmission.

The 2 most common faults are the:

Torque converter engage/release switch above the brake pedal.

The torque converter solenoid within the transmission.

Not without performing the 2 simple test procedures as guessing is a 50/50 hit and miss. Accurate diagnostics are based on test results.
