QuestionQUESTION: I have a 1990 Cadillac Eldorado the check engine light is on and I had a diagnostic code come up of camshaft position signal or sensor come up. I don't believe there is a camshaft sensor on this car it has a distributor on it. The tac wire is missing. Could this be the reason why this code is coming up? Im not sure where to go from this point to get the check engine light off.
ANSWER: The camshaft sensor Hall-Effect)is inside the distributor and will require several pictures and test procedures to test the system.

Did you try and CLEAR (erase) the code via the climate control panel to see if the same code returns ?.

QUESTION: By funny, I just mean would the engine still run smooth. I didn't clear code via control panel just by scanner and it popped right back up.
